How a test works

Every test follows the same three steps, so once you've run one you know them all.

Open a test

Pick a test on the desktop. Each one opens in its own window, so you can run a few side by side.
Try your device

Press keys, speak, play a sound. The test shows live what your computer actually picks up.
Mark the result

Tell the test whether it worked. Its icon gets a check or a cross, and Test everything turns the results into a report you can save as a PDF.

What stays on your device

The tests work with your camera, microphone and screen, so privacy is built into how they run, not added later.

The camera picture and the microphone sound are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
A recording or a photo stays in its window until you choose to save it.
You don't need an account to run any test.
Results are kept only in this browser, for this visit.

Buying a used laptop

Check every key, the camera and the battery before you pay, right there on the seller's machine.
Before a video call

Make sure the right microphone and camera are picked up a minute before the meeting starts.
Helping someone remotely

Send one link instead of walking them through settings. Every test has its own address.
A new monitor, mouse or controller

Look for dead pixels, measure the refresh rate and the mouse polling rate, and check controller sticks for drift.
