Wi-Fi Map

Measure the connection in each room and see where your Wi-Fi is strong and where it’s weak.

Measure this spot

Stand where you usually use the internet, give the spot a name and measure. Then move to the next room and do it again.

Reading the map

Download speed matters for video and downloads. Response time and jitter matter for calls and games.

Close to the router, every spot may show the same top speed, because that’s the limit of your internet plan. A spot that is clearly slower, or whose response time jumps around, is where the Wi-Fi is weak.

Improving a weak spot

Move the router to a central, high and open place, away from walls, mirrors, fish tanks and the microwave. If one area stays weak, a mesh unit or access point there works better than a simple extender. Devices on 5 GHz or Wi-Fi 6 get more speed close by, while 2.4 GHz reaches farther.

Each measurement uses up to 70 MB of data. Results are saved only on this device.
