Rattles you marked

None yet. Press Mark rattle here when you find one.

Start quietly. Loud bass can damage small speakers and your hearing. Phone and laptop speakers can’t play deep bass, so below about 150 Hz you may hear little or nothing. That’s normal.

    How to find a rattle

    1. Set the volume low and press Start sweep.
    2. When you hear a buzz or rattle, press Hold here.
    3. Use − and + to find the tone where it’s loudest.
    4. Press gently on nearby panels, screws and objects. When the noise stops under your hand, you’ve found it.
    5. Mark it, fix it with a screw, felt or foam tape, and play that tone again to check.

    Where rattles usually hide

In a car: door panels, the license plate, the rear shelf, the trunk lid and things in the door pockets. At home: windows, shelves, picture frames, lamps, and the speaker’s own grille, screws and bass port.
